WHY IS HYPNOTHERAPY SO SUCCESSFUL?Do you find yourself knowing exactly what you need to do to reach your goals, but can’t seem to make it happen? Consciously you may know what you should do to reach your goal, unfortunately your subconscious mind is that hidden part of the mind that is really running the show. This part of the mind is the equivalent of a hard drive. It is where all of your programs are stored such as habits and beliefs. While in this deeply relaxed state that we call hypnosis, we are able to change any negative programs that are not serving you to reach your goals and replace them with positive beliefs and habits that will help you to make the changes you need to reach your goal. The reason we do this is because if left alone, the subconscious mind will keep doing the same thing over and over again until it is retrained. Hence why the majority of what you thought yesterday and the day before is the same that you are thinking of today. Example: If you think you can quit smoking whenever you like, the next day you will think that, a few months later your still think you can quit whenever you like...then 20 years later still think that...until it's to late. With us at Steps for Change we give you the power to decide how you want your life to be. You control your subconscious programming to input positive suggestions that sends messages to your subconsious mind that won't only help you to reach your goal but that are going to improve your life!

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
When you are hypnotized, you are in a relaxed and focused state called a trance. It's similar to meditating, and this is when you can speak to your subconscious mind. Through therapeutic hypnosis, you can modify beliefs that no longer serve you and make changes to improve your life.
HOW DOES A SESSION WORK?
Hypnotherapy sessions generally last an hour or so. On the first session you will be asked to fill out a few forms; providing necessary contact information as well as a basic family and medical history. Then a portion of time is set aside to discuss your goals and desired outcome. Next the hypnotherapist will describe the hypnosis process before beginning the hypnosis part. Then the hypnotherapist will give you suggestions while you're in hypnosis to help you change any habits or beliefs that are holding you back from reaching your goals. Then at the end, your hypnotherapist will count you out, bringing you back to a normal state and explain what happened in hypnosis. Then your hypnotherapist will book for the next session if needed.
During the hypnosis process:
During the hypnosis process:
- Your body relaxes as your mind becomes more aware
- You mind won't let you do anything against your beliefs
- Hypnosis puts you in a deeper control of your emotions and thoughts
- You mind is relaxed and prepared to make the changes you want
- After a hypnosis session, most people feel refreshed and at peace
WILL I BE ASLEEP?
Often times people wonder if they're asleep during hypnosis. Think about it this way, if you were asleep you couldn't hear me. You don't smoke or overeat when you're sleeping, you smoke and overeat when you're awake. You feel stress and anxiety when you're awake, not when you're asleep. So this is when your mind has to be effectively changed as well.
WILL I STILL BE IN CONTROL?
Yes. Hypnosis cannot cause you to do anything against your free will or ethics. You are not asleep or unconscious during the hypnosis session. In fact, your mind is very alert and aware of all that is happening around you. Many describe the hypnotic state as a complete and total escape from physical tension and emotional stress, while remaining completely aware.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
This will depend on the client and the issue being addressed. Three sessions are recommended for most issues, however, hypnotherapy for some issues like weight loss, stop smoking and some medical or pain management may require several additional sessions. This will all be discussed during your FREE consultation.
